Last Tuesday and Wednesday, we popped the corks in Bari! Our Italian location has already been in existence for 5 years and this special milestone was celebrated in style.
On Tuesday evening, our Italian colleagues and guests looked back on the successful journey of the last five years. What once began with six employees has now grown into a team of around 50 colleagues and is an indispensable pillar for BurdaForward as a media & tech company.
Five years of success in Bari: a technology hub in the heart of Italy
Five years ago, we at BurdaForward were convinced that Bari was the ideal technology location due to its two computer science faculties and the rapidly growing tech community in the region. Today we know that we made the right decision. Our Italian location is now home to a large number of software engineers, product managers, product developers, programmers, data analysts and many others who work on BurdaForward's high-reach portals.
During this time, we have built up a team of around 50 employees working in 16 different teams and projects. Our experts in Bari contribute to the development of important brands and strategic and innovative projects. This diversity demonstrates our commitment to quality and our ability to drive innovation.
We are proud of this growth, but what makes us even more satisfied is the quality of the projects we develop and the impact our teams have on an international level and users. Some projects, like Finanzen100 and Focus Online App, have their entire development teams composed of BurdaForward Italia Developers and Product Owners.“
Enjoyment and a good mood
The celebration on Tuesday evening was accompanied by an Italian buffet and cool drinks. One of the highlights of the evening was definitely the joint cutting of the cake by Antonello Fratepietro (Managing Director BurdaForward Italia), Thomas Koelzer (CTO and Managing Director BurdaForward Italia), Dr. Lydia Rullkötter (Co-CEO BurdaForward) and Dr. Katharina Hermann (Board Member at Hubert Burda Media).
The celebration continued on Wednesday - this time with a guided tour of a historic oil mill. On a sunny 25 degree day and in high spirits, the colleagues and guests learned how olive oil is produced and were able to taste it with fresh bread.
We are already looking forward to the next five years and to continuing to achieve great things together!
