Last Sunday, the German edition of the HuffPost, which BurdaForward launched in October 2013 with much passion and dedication, went offline. In the rooftop bar "Hoch 5" in Munich's Industrial quarter, current HuffPost colleagues met up with alumni and supporters on Friday evening and celebrated an emotional farewell.

Farewell to the readers
After five and a half years of HuffPost’s German lifespan, in which many moving topics were covered, politicians and celebrities were invited as guest editors and, according to AGOF, 8.2 million people were reached, the editors said goodbye to their readers personally.
Today, the Huffpost renewes itself once again - for the last time. The German edition of the Huffpost goes offline on March 31. We want to take this opportunity to say thank you, dear readers, for your feedback, your suggestions for articles, your praise and also your openness for our experiments in making news differently: For example, to conduct journalism in a more constructive and positive manner, to tell political news in clearly arranged bullet points optimized for users on smartphones, and to open a news portal for the very personal contributions of thousands of bloggers.“
Besides this farewell letter to all HuffPost fans, the editorial staff filled the page with articles from the HuffPost era. Headlines like "55 lead stories your newspaper doesn't dare to publish", "111 HuffPost stories that show that the world is better than its bad news" and "From Thuringia to Yemen: five years of HuffPost reporters on the road" remind us of the constructive, positive approach that makes HuffPost’s news so different and unique.
The HuffPost spirit lives on
The good news? All these wonderful colleagues will continue to work in editorial offices all over Germany, thus keeping the HuffPost spirit alive.
