Since July 1, Ariane has been strengthening BurdaForward as the new Head of Social Media – we are delighted to have her on board.
In her new role, the 42-year-old will lead our cross-brand social media team. Together with the editorial teams, she will develop the strategies for FOCUS online, Bunte.de, Chip.de and TV Spielfilm’s presence on external platforms. BurdaForward has a total of more than 15 million followers across its social media channels.
“I am very pleased about Ariane joining us,” says Florian Festl, Editor-in-Chief of BurdaForward. "She brings extensive experience in journalism, community management, and the development of digital businesses. This will help us further sharpen the profile of our brands across social media channels.”
Ariane Fries is a trained journalist who worked for several years at Madsack and was part of the RND development team, focusing on social media. From 2019 to 2023, she headed the community team at "Der Spiegel”. Most recently, she worked at Opinary, where she was responsible for the newsroom, among other areas.
"I am delighted by the warm welcome I have received at BurdaForward. The launch of our Creator Hub, in particular, is an incredibly exciting first project for me. Here, we are bringing together quality journalism and modern content creation to give our brands a face. This allows us to build a personal and trusting relationship with our users on social media and sustainably strengthen the relevance of our content,” says Ariane Fries.
Ten colleagues were selected for the BurdaForward Creator Hub. Over the course of a six-month programme, they will be trained to represent our brands as news creators and give them a face on social media – more on this soon!
Dear Ariane, we are delighted to have you as part of the BurdaForward team and wish you a fantastic start with us!
