At the end of the Bavarian summer vacations, BurdaForward once again held a Kids' Day this year. This popular event, which has been established for several years, gives kids playful insights into the working world of their parents - and at the same time eases the balancing act between family and career on the last day of the vacations.
One of the most critical topics of our time is the climate - and so this was also the focus of Children's Day 2022 at BurdaForward. The day began with a film about the challenges of climate change. Immediately afterwards, the 32 young reporters had the opportunity to interview colleagues in the Sunyard about the topic.
The afternoon was all about sustainability. On the roof terrace of the Sunyard, they joined forces to create a vegetable and herb raised bed. The kids also learned how sustainable nutrition works by coding a food quiz. During the joint upcycling craft session, toilet rolls, egg cartons, and canning jars were given a whole new function. And of course, a visit to the CHIP test center was not to be missed: Here they learned how much electricity we consume in everyday life.
So the last day of the vacation ended not only with shining children's eyes, but also with lots of playful knowledge about our planet and how we can all help to preserve it.
