Christmas Eve is already in a few days. For the children who had to leave their homes in Ukraine this year, it will be their first Christmas in Germany. BurdaForward colleagues have fulfilled Christmas wishes for about 200 of these children.

How do you close a year that brought so many challenges and crises? Coming together once again, reviewing the last few months, and doing good where it is really needed. That was the goal of BurdaForward's Christmas parties in Munich, Hamburg, Cologne and Bari, Italy. The centerpiece of each celebration was a very special Christmas tree - decorated with wish lists from children who had fled Ukraine.
The wish tree campaign took place as part of the "Sprungkraft" education initiative, with which BurdaForward is committed to fair educational opportunities and the healthy development of children. Via the Tribute to Bambi Foundation, contact was made with the Cologne-based organization FAIR.STÄRKEN e.V., which sent us Christmas wishes such as crayons, coloring books, card games and calculators. The non-profit organization works with children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, and aims to bring about a colorful, inclusive society through social learning and training opportunities.
Over a campfire, mulled wine and snacks, the BurdaForward colleagues took care of the approximately 200 wishes and brought them packed to a BurdaForward location in the following days. From there, all gifts were collected and forwarded to FAIR.STÄRKEN e.V.. For the packages from Cologne, a personal handover could even take place. We would like to thank all the colleagues involved from the bottom of our hearts for giving real joy at Christmas and helping the children to gain a foothold in Germany.
