“Shaping the Future”: FOCUS online launches Knowledge Partnership with the Fraunhofer Society

Major knowledge partnership on FOCUS online: The BurdaForward portal and the Fraunhofer Society will be expanding their collaboration in the future. Their joint thematic hub, “Shaping the Future,” highlights existing and emerging scientific solutions to the challenges of our time.  

“We are all feeling the serious effects of a multi-crisis,” says Editor-in-Chief Florian Festl. “At the same time, there are more innovative solutions than ever before. The Fraunhofer Society is the ideal partner for bringing these new ideas from the scientific community to a wider audience.”

Through this partnership, FOCUS online is strengthening its constructive reporting and, in addition to the climate brand FOCUS online Earth, is creating new sections within its knowledge section.

New content is regularly published at focus.de/wissen/zukunft-gestalten, tailored to the FOCUS online audience based on articles from the Fraunhofer Magazine. The latest research findings in medicine, technology, energy, climate, and other fields of innovation—along with their significance for society—are explained in an accessible way.  

Every scientific breakthrough is preceded by a long and exciting journey.  “These stories can be told in a lively and captivating way for our audience,” says Linda Hinz, who oversees the Knowledge and Health sections as well as FOCUS online Earth at FOCUS online. “This collaboration thus complements the thematic areas of the FOCUS brand DNA with in-depth content from a scientific perspective.”

The Fraunhofer Society is a non-profit association and plays a central role in the innovation process with its research focus on key technologies relevant to the future.  

FOCUS online is one of Germany's most widely read news portals, reaching over 20 million people each month. The news website is published by the digital publisher BurdaForward, which also owns other brands such as Bunte.de and Chip.de.
