FOCUS online, the news portal of the publishing house BurdaForward (including Chip.de, Bunte.de, TV Spielfilm) is launching a new Constructive Award The "Constructive World Award" is intended to honour the social and journalistic work of those who think constructively and move our world forward.
„One Purpose, Many Faces“ – under this motto, the award will be presented for the first time in June 2023. In contrast to other journalism prizes, the Constructive World Awards also honour the people who, with their projects and ideas, are also behind the outstanding media contributions. Therefore, so-called "tandems" of media professionals and actors (individuals, associations, foundations) will be awarded.
As a prelude, some of the jury members of the new award will discuss "Constructivity in media and society" together with Florian Festl at the DLD Conference tomorrow, Friday. Among the jury members are Ana-Cristina Grohnert (Chairwoman of Charta der Vielfalt), Prof. Dr. Maren Urner (Co-Founder Perspective Daily), Steffi Czerny (Founder and CEO DLD), Katja Speck (Founder and CMO of DigitalMarketExpert) and Katharina Hinze (Co-Managing Director Ashoka).
Engagement and Reporting - Application for "Tandems"
As of now, media professionals can submit their award-worthy constructive work via www.constructive-world-award.com and apply together with the actor of their contribution. The award is presented in six categories, which are derived from the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are Innovative Infrastructure, Universal Empowerment, Better Planet, Fundamental Survival, Economic Life and Peaceful Guidance. In an additional seventh category, the Constructive Hero, an audience award will be presented. The aim of the new Constructive Award is to reflect the diversity of the media industry in Germany. Therefore, editorial contributions in print, video, audio, web and also cross-media formats will be considered in the jury's assessment.
In future, the Constructive World Award will be presented once a year. At the same time, it will be the starting point for a Constructive Network in which media professionals, initiators and drivers of sustainable model projects and initiatives can exchange and develop their ideas. The first award ceremony in summer 2023 will take place in Munich and will be accompanied by the media. Both the programme and the event itself will focus on future-oriented solutions. Therefore, the award itself will also be designed and produced in an environmentally friendly way by the Munich artist Janine Mackenroth.
