In April BurdaForward reached more than 41 million unique users for the second time in a row - that corresponds to two thirds of all German online users*. With FOCUS Online, the news service with the widest reach, and a strong platform comprising brands such as CHIP, NetMoms, Finanzen100 and EFAHRER.com, we are helping people through the Corona crisis in a needs-oriented and optimistic manner.
FOCUS Online: At the top and yet at eye level
In March 2020, which went down as a record month in the history of German news portals with the high demand for information about the shutdown, AGOF FOCUS Online reported the highest reach of digital services in Germany* for the first time in its history. 33.36 million people* stayed informed there. While corona reporting slowed down again in April and the news industry is struggling, FOCUS Online remains stable and continues to report on the global news situation, not only in specially initiated corona formats, but also beyond that. Only 1.1 percent fewer people than in the previous month visited the news site in April*. FOCUS Online is playing a fundamental role in the corona pandemic - with fast updates, answers to personal questions and solutions to all kinds of concerns, the editorial team is meeting its users at eye level and providing information exactly where it is needed.
For the users, the focus is on the job
The former special interest portal CHIP has long been the number 1 in the computer and tech segment. Since last year the mark with the consumer range CHIP365 grows into new dimensions and serves in the Corona time the important need to find assistance for the arrangement of the unusual new everyday life. 27.1 million people* used CHIP's practical tips and tests in April - 60 percent more than in the year before*.
Finanzen100 remains in first place among the financial portals* despite the stock market quake caused by the Corona pandemic with 8.3 million users in April. Interactive webinars and expert opinions give private investors the impetus to take advantage of the crash. Because wealth is created in the crisis!
The parents' portal NetMoms is a friendly support for mothers and fathers even in uncertain times. In April, 7.1 million* parents sought targeted support for challenges such as home schooling and childcare at home. Compared to last year, NetMoms grew by 184 percent*.
The electric mobility portal EFAHRER.com, which was only founded in 2018, has been listed in the AGOF ranking since March. Despite the thematic focus on electric vehicles, 3.6 million people visited the website* in April. This is second place in the digital automotive media sector.
A meaningful mission
BurdaForward bundles a wide range of topics in a unique platform. Each brand serves a different need for information and acts with great proximity to the users. All portals share a common mission and social responsibility to provide relevant, reliable and fact-oriented information. In difficult times, media gain even more importance and thus also responsibility. We at BurdaForward make a difference by not painting a black picture and instead looking ahead with confidence. Because when viewed constructively, even difficult situations open up new perspectives.
