BurdaForward commissions BCN as marketer
BurdaForward (including FOCUS online, BUNTE.de, CHIP.de, TVSpielfilm.de) is mandating BCN with the marketing of its entire digital portfolio as of January 1, 2025. BCN, which has been a joint venture between Hubert Burda Media, FUNKE Mediengruppe and Mediengruppe Klambt for almost a year, has gained eleven high-reach digital brands with this new mandate and is now responsible for over 300 media brands on the German market.
Philipp Brunner to leave BurdaForward
BurdaForward COO Philipp Brunner (46) has decided to leave the company on June 30, 2024. As CEO of CHIP, Brunner has been part of the management team of the Burda subsidiary since 2018 and in this role, has been responsible for the CHIP Group's online and print business.

License for CHIP and CHIP FOTO-VIDEO magazines goes to Five Monkeys Media
The publishing house BurdaForward is awarding the license for two print magazines of the CHIP brand to the newly founded media house Five Monkeys Media. Both CHIP magazine and CHIP FOTO-VIDEO magazine will be published by the new licensee from April 1, 2024. All digital offerings of the CHIP brand will remain within BurdaForward GmbH, which includes CHIP.de as well as numerous well-known digital portals such as FOCUS online, BUNTE.de and TVSpielfilm PLUS.
Martin Lütgenau says goodbye to BurdaForward
Martin Lütgenau, Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer of BurdaForward, is leaving the company amicably and at his own request on 31 March 2024. For more than 20 years, the digital manager has very successfully led the marketing business of the Burda subsidiary, which includes brands such as FOCUS online, CHIP, BUNTE.de and TV Spielfilm, in various managing director positions.
FamilyForward: New initiative supports employees on parental leave

The "FamilyForward" initiative is aimed specifically at employees who are leaving their jobs for a certain period of time for family reasons. Alina Bähr takes over as editor-in-chief of BUNTE.de
Alina Bähr (34) is to become the new editor-in-chief of BUNTE.de. From October 15, 2021, Bähr will be responsible for the further development of the people portal, which is housed under the umbrella of digital publisher BurdaForward. Born in Berlin, she has previously held various positions at BurdaForward, including Deputy Head of News and Head of Entertainment at FOCUS Online.

80th birthday of Hubert Burda in Munich
The publisher Hubert Burda celebrated his 80th birthday on Monday at the Group's location in Arabellastraße. Hundreds of employees and numerous guests of honour, including the Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder, Munich's Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter, CSU honorary member Edmund Stoiber, actor Fritz Wepper, composer Eberhard Schoener and former McKinsey boss Herbert Henzler celebrated this special day with Burda.

Germany's largest hacker school
Shaping the future with digital know-how: The technology and consumer portal CHIP has taken its 40th anniversary as an opportunity to organize the largest hacker school in Germany. Around 200 students spent a day in Munich learning about the world of bits and bytes. They were guided by the Hamburg Hacker School and forty software developers from BurdaForward.
