BurdaForward inspires 16,000 participants at the finance webinar with tech expert Frank Thelen

On first of February, FOCUS Online and Finanzen100 hosted the 20th finance webinar with investor and tech expert Frank Thelen and looked at the world of tomorrow with 16,000 participants. BurdaForward is thus growing to become the largest provider of digital financial seminars and is virtually filling Germany's major halls: another 15 events are planned until the end of March, including "The big tax week" by FOCUS Online.

The Burda subsidiary has already organised more than 20 financial webinars, including the largest virtual finance day, where a total of 27 financial experts gave participants valuable tips on pensions, real estate and shares on three stages for an entire day and also answered individual financial questions live.

Earning a share in the world of tomorrow

In the free webinar on 1 February, investor and tech expert Frank Thelen ("10x DNA: The Mindset of the Future") shares his assessment with participants on how new technologies will change our lives and which companies investors should keep an eye on: How can companies with great future potential be recognised and where is it currently worth investing? He explained the growth areas of the next decade and told which business ideas the brightest minds in Silicon Valley are currently working on. 

The danger of unpredictability  

More and more people are betting on cryptocurrency as a new asset class. But what is behind it? 

"Theoretically, bitcoin can fall to zero dollars any day. But the probability is very low. The blockchain behind it and thus the so-called Prove of Work, which ensures the quality and strength of the network, have proven that it works. More and more people believe that Bitcoin is the value store and that is why it is," says Frank Thelen. "Also because of the exchange, Bitcoin is becoming more tradable and will probably become more popular as an investment."  

But the risk lies in its unpredictability. The investor rates this risk as much lower with the technology leader Tesla. "Even with such a company, the share price can fall, but in the end, the understanding of physics, chemistry and the market situation will be decisive." 

Thelen's most important advice to the almost 16,000 participants: In order to find out whether a company has prospects for the future and whether it is worth investing, it is important to take a deep look at the company's values. Questions such as "Does the management team of a company bundle different competences?" and "Does the company offer new growth areas with its products?" can help.
