Ricarda Lang becomes a columnist for FOCUS online
Former Green Party co-chair Ricarda Lang is starting a column on FOCUS online. From December 2024, she will be presenting her views on current political issues and debates for the news portal. “Long-term thinking” is the name of the monthly column, in which she aims to take a constructive look ahead.
CHIP Network test 2024: Significant 5G progress and weak network coverage in German trains
CHIP and NET CHECK have once again examined the quality of German mobile networks. The test, which includes crowdsourcing data over an area of 235,000 square kilometers as well as hundreds of thousands of direct measurements with special equipment, shows that 5G expansion and network coverage in long-distance trains remain the key projects for the future. In addition, 1&1 is a new provider on the market whose network is still under construction.
BurdaForward commissions BCN as marketer
BurdaForward (including FOCUS online, BUNTE.de, CHIP.de, TVSpielfilm.de) is mandating BCN with the marketing of its entire digital portfolio as of January 1, 2025. BCN, which has been a joint venture between Hubert Burda Media, FUNKE Mediengruppe and Mediengruppe Klambt for almost a year, has gained eleven high-reach digital brands with this new mandate and is now responsible for over 300 media brands on the German market.

The publishing house BurdaForward is awarding the license for two print magazines of the CHIP brand to the newly founded media house Five Monkeys Media. Both CHIP magazine and CHIP FOTO-VIDEO magazine will be published by the new licensee from April 1, 2024. Sabrina Büchel elected to the OVK chairmanship
Last week, the members of the Online Marketers' Circle (OVK) in Hamburg elected their chairs for the next two years. Sabrina Büchel, Executive Director at BurdaForward, was unanimously elected to the six-person chairmanship. CHIP network test 2023: 5G shows effect
Telekom, Vodafone or O2 - who is ahead in terms of network quality? To find out how network coverage in Germany is doing, measurement technicians once again traveled all over the country for CHIP. As part of the major network test, the team from partner NET CHECK covered more than 11,000 kilometers on foot, by car and by train and took measurements. One of the three networks tested provided a special surprise.

Come to stay - FOCUS online opens climate office
Yesterday, FOCUS online Earth's new climate office in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler presented itself to the public with an opening ceremony. After the flood disaster in the Ahr valley in July 2021, the FOCUS online flood reporters reported on site for several months. "Came to stay" was the motto.
