What you can expect from us...

As a (Senior) Backend Developer you work with the team on one of the core elements of BurdaForward publishing platform: the mechanism that brings the most important content to the users where and when they need it. 

• A small team: in additional to you, there is a product manager and yet another developer
• You’ll overtake the co-ownership of everything
• You’ll build proof-of-concepts as soon as possible, and afterwards you’ll migrate PoC code to the production
• Your services and their artifacts will contribute to the BF AI/ML effort

What we would expect from you...

• At least 3 years of practical experience as a software engineer
• Experienced with continuous integration and delivery
• Experience concurrency in real world projects
• Very good knowledge of TypeScript
• You have experience in unit and integration testing
• You can write a stateless code free of side effects
• Nice to have: Python and also ML, in particular NLP
• Our applied technologies and frameworks:
  • AWS, terraform
  • Serverless, microservices
  • TypeScript for services, Python for scripting
  • Gitlab
  • Snowflake as a data lake
  • Vespa.ai as a recommendation engine
